Iapetus is the third-largest natural satellite of Saturn. It was discovered by Giovanni Domenico Cassini in October 1671.

Iapetus is best known for its dramatic "two-tone" coloration. It is tidally locked, always keeping the same face towards Saturn. Discoveries by the Cassini mission in 2007 revealed several other unusual features, such as a massive equatorial ridge running three-quarters of the way around the moon.

Iapetus is named after the Titan Iapetus from Greek mythology.

The music is an expansion of a short experimental motif (basically the first 12 seconds of the track) which I embellished a bit and to which I added the drum beat and the solos.
